Hi
My first attempt at making an iris card was to make a card with an owl on it. I chose this as my granny loves owls and I thought I could send it to her.
Iris cards are really easy to make – you just cut an aperture in the front of the card in the shape you want, tape it over a pattern which tells you the order to place the paper strips to make the picture, then put the strips of paper on following the pattern, having folded the edge over first to give a nice crisp edge. And once you’ve finished the iris picture, you cover the back with a blank piece of card to cover your work, then decorate the front to finish! Sounds like a lot of work, but while it’s time-consuming it is easy work.
Hope you like my owl, would love to see any cards you’ve made!
